Much has been written about Adam Jones' opinion regarding fans who run on the field. He subsequently grabbed headlines for his comments on Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka. Those topics are nice and all, but have you heard his thoughts on chess?

Jones channeled a bit of D'Angelo Barksdale earlier this week as the Orioles emerged from their brief, early-season losing streak. Here's Jones talking chess in an April 8 article.

"I've liked this team for a long time," Jones said. "I like how this clubhouse is every day. We're laughing. Enjoying ourselves. You're going to be battling each other and playing chess. Today, we were able to get to the queen quicker."

This is Baltimore, so everything ties back to "The Wire." Here is D'Angelo Barksdale breaking down the game of chess and the role of the queen.

"This is the queen. She smart, she fierce. She move any way she want as far as she want. And she is the go get sh*t done piece."

"You see, the king stay the king. Everything stay who he is. Except for the pawns. Now if a pawn made it all the way down to the other dude's side, he get to be queen. And like I said, the queen ain't no b*tch. She got all the moves."

So let's combine the two quotes, shall we?

"The Orioles are smart, they're fierce. They're the go get sh*t done team. The Orioles ain't no b*tch. They got all the moves."

Works for me.

The first quote comes at the 1:16 mark of the clip below. The second comes at the 2:16 mark. Take it away, D'Angelo:
