Aug. 5, 2014

Baltimore and Toronto haven't received top billing in the A.L. East for quite some time - more than two decades, but who's counting? Yet here we are in early August with the Orioles and Blue Jays at the top of the division standings and playing three of their nine, meaningful head-to-head games remaining on the schedule.

The Toronto Star begins one of its articles previewing this week's match-up, which it terms "The Battle of the Birds," by asking the following: "Hey Toronto, remember this feeling? It’s called a pennant race."
