Three is an Orioles Magic Number

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones hit his third career walk-off homer on Thursday.

Minnesota Twins closer Fernando Rodney allowed his third career walk-off homer on Thursday.

The Orioles won 3-2 on Opening Day 2018.

It was the third straight season that the Orioles have started with a walk-off win. (That’s a record.)

Three is a Magic Number, an Orioles Magic Number.

March 29, 2018 versus the Minnesota Twins (11th inning off Fernando Rodney)

June 9, 2012  versus the Philadelphia Phillies (12th inning off B.J. Rosenberg)

May 24, 2011 versus the Kansas City Royals (9th inning off Joakim Soria )

 

Here are Fernando Rodney’s career walk-off homers allowed:

March 29, 2018 versus the Baltimore Orioles (Adam Jones)

May 26, 2012 versus the Boston Red Sox (Jarrod Saltalamacchia)

May 8, 2002 versus the Anaheim Angels (Troy Glaus) – This was Fernando Rodney’s second big league appearance and his first career home run allowed.
